    Bachelor Degree Programs (SEIT) Options

    Bachelor of Education (Educational Administration) (Honours)

    Program Synopsis


    One way to upgrade the academic and management standards of the primary schools is through upgrading of the academic qualifications of the administrators, namely the Headmasters, Senior Assistants and Supervisors. This program has been tailor-designed to equip school administrators and supervisors with the necessary skills, expertise and knowledge they require to manage modern schools.

    Candidates must have a minimum of 120 credits to qualify for the degree

    Note
    One credit hour is equivalent to 40 study hours. As such, for a three-credit hour course, a student is expected to spend at least 120 study hours, which comprises tutorials, online discussion and self-managed learning.

    Senior Secondary/High School Certificate Examination (SS/HSCE) or West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) or equivalent

    With an aggregate score of 24 or better in six subjects including passes in: Three Core Subjects (including Core English, and Core Mathematics) plus Three Electives. For Engineering or Computer Science Programs, the Three electives should include Elective Mathematics and Elective Science (Physics, plus Chemistry or Biology).

    Bachelor of Education with Honours (Science)

    Program Synopsis


    The Bachelor of Education (Science) program is tailor-made for in-service teachers. The program is designed to enable these teachers obtain their university degree. The curriculum focuses on three main components:

    • development of the learner’s pedagogical knowledge;
    • enhancement of the learner’s teaching and student-assessment methodology;
    • Improvement of learner’s knowledge in science.
    The integrated approach of the curriculum is designed to increase the student’s skills so as to be able to stimulate the student’s intellectual interest in the sciences and guide them towards academic success.

    This program has a course combination in the fields of education and science. Candidates are required to accumulate minimum 120 credits in order to graduate.
